π§΅#Blender deployement
Yes, it might be that your scene is too large. Can you check the logs on your glitch edit page?
Glitch has an upper limit to about 30-40 mb.
But for previewing you can also use the local server. Did you try that? Or do you want to share it with others?
Yes I tried local as well but the page was blank
Maybe there are other tutorials that I can try?
the scene is pretty simple I don't think it should be a problem unless I did something wrong
When it was blank did the console window print any error?
Can you send a screenshot from the console in browser + the directory where your web project is in?
Let me know if that helps?
I didn't mean the blender console, there is a terminal or console window open when you start the local server. It might be minimized
ooh
Like a terminal window?
Or inside blender
Yes like a terminal window
Nothing really happened on screen when I took any of the actions under the needle engine, if I deploy the glitch its the sandbox file
You started the local server π its running
ooo i seee
Ok so something broke during installation. Try closing the server and deleting the node_modules folder AND the package.lock.json (NOT package.json !!! π ) in the web directory
and then click the start local srver button again
k
that's a odd message, never saw this before π€ (symlink already exists)
It's been a while since ive used blender π thanks for bearing with me
would it be easier to create a new project folder?
If you're more familiar with Unity it might be easier to get started
yes, just select a different directory
ok, made a new folder. I click Genrate Web Project

What do you mean?
I made a new project and generated web, this was the terminal result
I was using a newer version of blender, installed 4.2 (from 4.3) could that be an issue?
Perfect then just open the local or network url in your browser
4.2 should be good
Open this when the local server runs: https://192.168.1.187:3000/
It says this site can't be reached
refused to connect
I tried m y laptop with a different blender file and when I view live from glitch its still the sandbox
Thats just the local ssl warning, see the faq about: There's a SSL error when opening the local website https://engine.needle.tools/docs/faq.html#there-s-a-ssl-error-when-opening-the-local-website
Btw can you share a bit about what youre looking for / what you're trying to build?
Iβll check that out! Iβm looking to build a sandbox of sorts, something similar to the cactus scene but just trying to learn the workflow for now then start adding some complexity. Ideally Iβd like to build different scenes and be able to save/ come back to modify
I donβt think it was a ssl issue, it didnβt give me the option to proceed
Can you show a screenshot?
<@269908931105652747> it seems like there was a bug in the publish process and an invalid version got published. Iβm very sorry - a new version will be available shortly
Please click Install Preview Server in Blender and then start your server again. It should install the right version then and work
Thanks! The issue was the server was already running something, so I guess I have to kill the server before previewing in browser
Or does the install preview server create a new instance on local host? Is it possible to have multiple projects open simultaneously?
You have to stop the server (using the Stop Server button) yes.
It's possible to run multiple projects if you modify the port in the vite.config.js file that is inside each of your web projects - but honestly I've never tested this with the Blender addon (theoretically you could also just navigate to each web project and run npm start in the directory to start the local server with the port you configured if you need that for some reason)
